LOOSE CHANGE finds that chilled, sweet "in the pocket" groove and infuses it with a feel good jazz/pop/soul edge that offers up original material as well as favourite songs that may have been forgotten....like loose change in an old pocket.
We specialize in music festivals as well as corporate events. |

LOOSE CHANGE has performed at well known events such as the Oakville Jazz Festival, Royal Botanical Gardens Jazz and Blues Series and the Burlington Sound of Music amongst others. Corporate events include such high profile evenings as the Mayor's Cabaret at the Burlington Center for Performing Arts. Their repertoire covers a wide range of genres, originals and cover songs, selected from their favourite eras of music. As you know, the right music can make all the difference to the success of an event. Loose Change will work with you to create an atmosphere that's just right for the occasion.
The band is an eclectic pool of Hamilton/Burlington area musicians who play in and around the local music scene. Barry & Barbara Simmons form the core of the band and are a singer/songwriter duo who own a local recording studio, The Jazz Kitchen. Their song Waterfall was on the play list of Smooth Jazz station Wave 94.7 and they are in demand as session musicians. Depending upon the occasion, they are joined by such others as: Jacqueline Pearson whose rich and soulful voice can be found on numerous live and studio albums; Ryan Ethier, a young bass phenom who worked with the Skip Prokop band for many years; and Scott Mason, guitar guru with Sky Terminal.
The band offers a duo, a trio, a quartet or a quintet depending on the customer's needs, the venue and/or, the occasion.
An added bonus: book them for your next live music event and they will provide a complete sound system, saving you the headache (and expense) of equipment rental! (small to medium size venue).

Royal Botanical Gardens - ReviewLoose Change performed this summer at the Royal Botanical Gardens as part of our Red Hot Jazz and Cool Blues Wednesdays Music Series. It was a pleasure hosting such a talented group of musicians. Their song list was the perfect blend of original material and ‘feel good’ classics. Guests truly enjoyed the music and it was well suited for a relaxing summer evening in our garden venue. We would recommend them for similar events and look forward to working with them in the future.
